General rules for the Soulcalibur IV tournaments:

- Button configuration allowed.
- Pad or Stick allowed, adapters allowed.
- Unique character announced at the registration table.
- Star Wars characters forbidden.
- Algol forbidden.
- Bonus characters forbidden.
- Custom characters forbidden.
- Random stage select.
- Star Wars stages forbidden.
- Side decided at random.

Special rules for the solo tournament:

- 32 seeded players spread within 32 pools by the organization.
- Seeded players classified from the best to the worst (1 to 32).
- Spreading of the seeded players regarding to their nationalities.

- All the other players draw lots at the registration table.
